Every day, millions of young people open Wizz App to make real connections: to find someone who shares their taste in music, their sense of humor, or just their need for a genuine conversation. Behind every one of those interactions, a team of trust and safety professionals is working to make sure that experience stays safe, positive, and real.

Today, we're proud to share that members of the Wizz App Trust & Safety team have been accepted into the Trust & Safety Professional Association (TSPA).

It's a step that reflects values we've believed since day one: that building the safest space for Gen Z starts with people.

What Is the Trust & Safety Professional Association?

The Trust & Safety Professional Association is the leading global community for practitioners working in online safety, content moderation, and platform integrity. TSPA brings together professionals from across the industry, from early-career moderators to senior policy leads, to share knowledge, develop standards, and advance the field as a whole.

Membership gives practitioners access to peer networks, research, training, and programming designed specifically for the realities of trust and safety work. It's a profession that has evolved rapidly, and TSPA exists to ensure the people doing it have the resources to keep pace.

Why This Matters at Wizz App

Wizz App serves a primarily Gen Z user base who are using the internet at a formative stage of their lives. That responsibility has shaped every product decision we've made, from mandatory age verification at sign-up to pre-delivery content moderation that stops harmful content before it ever reaches another user.

But technology alone doesn't create safety. The people reviewing reports, enforcing policies, and making judgment calls in edge cases are just as important as the systems they work within. At Wizz App, our Trust & Safety team reviews thousands of reports every single day. They are the human layer in a system designed to protect millions.

The Case for Professional Development in Trust & Safety

Trust and safety is one of the most demanding disciplines in tech. The challenges are constantly evolving, new content types, new manipulation tactics, new regulatory frameworks, and an ever-shifting understanding of what harm actually looks like online.

No internal training program can cover everything. The most effective trust and safety teams are ones that stay connected to the wider field, that learn from practitioners at other platforms, contribute to industry-wide knowledge, and build the kind of expertise that only comes from being part of a professional community.

TSPA membership is how we make that happen for our team. It gives Wizz App's trust and safety professionals:

  • Access to a global practitioner network: peers working on the same problems across different platforms, contexts, and geographies

  • Industry-wide knowledge sharing: research, case studies, and emerging best practices that go beyond what any single company can develop alone

  • Professional standards and frameworks: a growing body of shared principles that are raising the bar for trust and safety across the industry

  • Programming and continuing education: workshops, events, and discussions designed for people doing this work at the coalface

Safer Users. Better-Equipped People. That's the Goal.

At Wizz App, we already operate one of the most comprehensive safety ecosystems in social media. We pioneered mandatory biometric age verification for social networking apps. Every piece of content is pre-moderated before it reaches another user. Our team processes thousands of user reports every day, and every decision is reviewed, auditable, and fed back into our AI systems to make them smarter.

TSPA membership is part of how we continue to grow as a team dedicated to safety. When our trust and safety professionals are better connected, better informed, and recognized as part of a broader profession, that translates directly into better outcomes for every user who opens the app.

We're building the safest place for Gen Z to connect. And we're investing in the people who make that possible.
