We use some pretty high-tech tools to keep the vibes positive, but we don't want the tech to get in the way of the talk. Here are the top 5 safety features that work around the clock to protect you.
1. Selfie Age Check (So You Only Meet People Your Age)
Before you even send your first "Hi," we make sure you are who you say you are. Wizz uses advanced AI facial estimation (powered by our partners at Yoti) to age verify every single user.
How it works: You take a quick selfie, and the system estimates your age with incredible accuracy. If we can’t confirm your age, you’ll be asked to provide a government ID to verify.
Why it matters: This ensures you are only chatting with people in your own age group. No bots, no fakes – just real people looking for real connections.
2. Auto Message & Photo Filter (Blocks Bad Stuff Before You See It)
On Wizz, our auto message & photo filter blocks bad texts, photos, and videos before you see it. Every time you click ‘send’ on a message or photo, our safety partners Bodyguard.ai and Cinder check the content to make sure it’s safe.
The Result: If someone tries to send something that breaks our rules (like mean comments or inappropriate photos), it simply never arrives. The other person never even sees it. It’s like the message just vanished into thin air before it could do any harm.
3. Phone-Level Ban (No Second Chances on the Same Device)
We have a zero-tolerance policy for people who ruin the experience for others. While some apps just let someone create a new account after being banned, Wizz goes deeper.
The Tech: We use Phone-Level Bans.
The Impact: If someone is removed for breaking the rules, their entire phone is blocked from the app. Even if they factory reset their device or try to make a new email, they can’t come back. This ensures that once a "bad actor" is out, they stay out.
4. Face Match Check (Proves It’s Really You)
Wizz uses a Face Match Check to make sure that everyone you talk to is a true, authentic person.
The Tech: When you upload your first profile photo, our AWS tech compares it directly to the face scan you did during your selfie age check.
The Impact: It checks for a match in real-time. If the faces don't match, the photo doesn't go up. This keeps the community authentic and ensures that everyone you meet is exactly who they claim to be. No fakes – just 100% verified humans.
5. Real People Review Reports
Every user report in the app is seen by our dedicated team of human moderators within 24 hours. We aren't afraid to take action to keep the community healthy.
Fun Fact: About 27% of users have been "muted" (temporarily silenced) at some point.
Why that's good: It shows that our rules are actually enforced! Most of the time, a short "time-out" helps users learn our community vibes so they can come back and be a great part of the squad.
